Lowell Whiteman School
Design Objectives: Working with a team of architects and engineers, create, for a 25 acre
site, a school master plan for use in a 10 year build-out scheme. Create some visual unity within
the plan while solving dorm, gym and academic center issues. Solve circulation and parking
problems. Enhance sport activities for 40 residential students using the existing ski hill,
trampoline and skate ramp. Create easily maintainable outdoor gathering spaces and address
winter pedestrian safety issues. Relocate one small building and two historic sculptural
elements. Establish a visible and welcoming entrance to the school.
