Susan Saarinen has been involved in a number of community projects. Among them are:
Support of the Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado
Master Gardener for the Jefferson County Extension Service 1991-1999.
One of three Wildlife Master Gardener support persons at the Jefferson
County Extension Service while the Natural Resources Agent, Nancy
Zuschlag, was on sabbatical 1995-1996.
The design of an outdoor laboratory for Ryan Elementary School's ecology
And natural science classes 1995-1996.
Design consultant, and later president, of a cultural exchange center in
southwest France, hosting ceramists, artists filmmakers, musicians and
dancers, both here and in France 1999-2004.
